Today the 21st United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP21) began in Paris, aiming to unite around 150 nations for a single agreement on tackling climate change. The subject has been a key priority on the radar of the airport industry for some time. One of the motivating instruments is the carbon management standard, Airport Carbon Accreditation, established by ACI EUROPE in 2009. In May 2015, Adelaide Airport became the first airport in Australia to be recognised by the global programme for optimising its management and reduction of carbon emissions. Continue reading
