ADB SAFEGATE Nice International Airport

Nice International Airport is one of the busiest airports in France with 10 million passengers per year. Nice International Airport is partly built on land reclaimed from the sea and has two parallel runways very close to each other. An ASP-SafeControl system has recently been implemented at the airport to improve operations such as taxiway selection, direction selection and park entry pre-selection.

Safe and Efficient movement
The complex way that Nice International Airport is designed makes it more difficult to ensure safe and efficient operation. This is why Nice International Airport has decided to trust ADB SAFEGATE’s experience in safety and efficiency. An ASP-SafeControl system has recently been implemented at the airport to improve operations such as taxiway selection, direction selection and park entry pre-selection.

Savings can be made
There is also another benefit linked to the ASP-SafeControl solution that is particularly interesting for Nice International Airport. ASP-SafeControl makes it possible to decrease the quantity of cables at the airport. The poor ground conditions damages cables which means that they have to be renewed more often than usual. Both the ASP-SafeControl system and the SafeLED IQ solution enable a reduction of the number of circuits, the number of connections and the overall cable length. This will result in important savings both in cables and maintenance.

Thanks to the “IQ ready” version, Nice International Airport is able to replace its halogen lights with LED lights now, before the expansion of the ASP-SafeControl system is given the go-ahead.
