Calgary International Airport (YYC), one of Canada’s busiest airports, opened a new state-of-the-art terminal on October 31, 2016. Passenger volumes have nearly doubled at YYC from 8 million in 2000 to over 15.4 million in 2015, and the new addition makes future growth possible. The new five-level facility which is primarily for U.S. and international-destined traffic, was the final phase of an over $2 billion expansion project that included a new runway which opened in 2014. It was an exciting week in Canberra at Australia’s biggest annual aviation conference and exhibition, the Australian Airports Association National Conference. Participating in the event, ADB SAFEGATE exhibited solutions to optimize airport performance and get the best result for maximum value when working in airfield projects. On the final day of the conference, I spoke about what airport stakeholders can do to challenge their current procurement process in order to ensure that they end up with a solution that will address their current and future problems. At the Airport Matters 2016 – AOA Annual Conference in London, one of the projects highlighted is a film presenting the Integrated Tower Solution Project where Birmingham Airport and ADB SAFEGATE work together to enhance Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM).
On November 16-17, ADB SAFEGATE is attending ARKAD, the largest career fair in southern Sweden. The annual fair, hosted by TLTH at Lund University attracts around 150 companies and 10,000 students. We are there to meet new talented engineers and maybe the next generation of ADB SAFEGATE experts.
