On November 15-16, ADB SAFEGATE is attending ARKAD, the largest career fair in southern Sweden. The annual fair, hosted by TLTH at Lund University attracts around 150 companies and 10,000 students. We are there to meet new talented engineers and maybe the next generation of ADB SAFEGATE experts.
Fraport Greece operates the major airports in Greece as per a concession agreement it has with the government. While Fraport Greece offers a full range of integrated airport management services it was searching for a reliable airfield ground lighting (AGL) maintenance partner. With a large share of the installed equipment at these airports being from ADB SAFEGATE, Redex homed in on the group as long-term service partner for Fraport’s 14 airports in Greece.
VIDEO. At inter airport Europe 2017 ADB SAFEGATE launched an enhanced Safedock A-VDGS that integrates docking, gate and apron control, surveillance and monitoring systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of aircraft gate arrival, turnaround and departure. Safedock also helps to enhance apron situational awareness and safety. ADB SAFEGATE is launching a Pushback Support Tool that simplifies air traffic control workloads and enhances airport safety and efficiency. Part of ADB SAFEGATE’s portfolio of systems for the tower, the tool automatically suggests the optimum aircraft pushback procedure, monitors its progress and warns ATC of potential conflicts with obstacles and other aircraft or vehicles in the apron area. ADB SAFEGATE will demonstrate at inter airport Europe 2017 (Munich, 10-13 October) how airports can handle far more air traffic without the need to build costly new infrastructure. By integrating tower, airfield and gate systems, airports can substantially reduce the amount of time aircraft spend on the ground, all while maintaining the highest safety. Time can be saved at every stage of an aircraft’s airport journey, from final approach to landing, while taxiing, during the gate turnaround process, to departure.

Goma International Airport (GOM) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a strategic airport used by MONUSCO, a United Nations mission for peacekeeping in the region. Since the volcanic eruption of Mount Nyiragongo in 2002 when the airport was overrun with lava, operations had become very limited. To upgrade GOM with efficient airfield ground lighting (AGL) systems and optimize operations MONUSCO selected ADB SAFEGATE. Continue reading
