TRAINING ACADEMY. Outstanding technical and hands-on training for airport staff are needed to ensure the level of safety required for airside operations. At the beginning of the pandemic, we were wondering how to supervise hands-on practice remotely, how to make sure every participant understood and how to evaluate the new capabilities of the delegates we train. This has been quite a struggle for us. Not anymore.
WHITE PAPER. Post pandemic airport recovery depends on how airports and airlines can tackle volatility in an affordable way, without sacrificing safety and efficiency. In a white paper titled The Elastic Apron, which ADB SAFEGATE’s Thorben Burghardt recently co-authored with Michael McElvaney from Jacobs, we explore the concept of operational elasticity and how it can aid airport recovery.
OUR PEOPLE. Leveraging years of experience, ADB SAFEGATE’s team of passionate professionals is committed to improving the safety, efficiency and reliability of airports across the globe. At our office in Graz, Austria, our highly skilled software team is developing software and systems for the tower and air traffic controllers at airports all over the world. Did you know that our ATC solutions are installed at 260+ towers, helping air traffic controllers find the most efficient way from touchdown to gate? Curious what it is like to work as a summer intern at ADB SAFEGATE in this exciting field? Find out here!
The 2021 edition of ADB SAFEGATE’s Corporate Social Responsibility Report confirms our commitment to sustainability while highlighting our aspirations, progress and impact. From solutions that reduce aviation’s environmental footprint and initiatives to make operations more sustainable – to conducting our business with integrity and promoting workplace diversity and inclusion – we’re strengthening corporate citizenship efforts to make our company, our industry, and the world a better place.
BRISBANE. One year since Brisbane Airport’s new runway opened, we take a look at how ADB SAFEGATE provided a turnkey AGL delivery for the most challenging airport project in Australia’s recent history. Tackling dredged sand and a high water table with a massive civil build, before installing and commissioning electrical infrastructure and airfield systems, our team completed the project in under 2.5 years. The airport now has a world-class parallel runway system, supporting up to 110 aircraft movements per hour. It’s the country’s most efficient, and comparable to international airport hubs like Singapore and Hong Kong in terms of capacity.
Wrocław Airport’s airfield maintenance team started to use ADB SAFEGATE’s Digital Airside Location-based Inspection and Service solution (ALIS) to improve scheduling and tracking of airside maintenance. Michał Zwierzyk, Manager Chief Power Engineer at Wrocław Airport shares his team’s experience of using our new cloud-based maintenance tool.
WHITEPAPER. Traditionally an owner/operator of an airport network would have installed a stand-alone Airport Operations Systems (AOS) at each and every airport to enable effective and efficient flight turnaround operations. That is now in the past. A truly multi-airport capable AOS means that multiple airports throughout an entire network of stations can all be managed from a single multi-airport AOS deployment, and elevate the entire airport operations ecosystem.
Soon, we will have the pleasure to resume with in-person training sessions in our factories and offices. We are looking forward to welcoming back our customers to our facilities, but we can’t just train the way we did before the pandemic. Why? Because it taught us the advantages of online learning and showed us new, hybrid ways to train that combine the best of in-person and online training.
The ADB SAFEGATE Training Academy is thrilled to announce that we are now scheduling in-person classroom training sessions at our Zaventem office, beginning September this year. Certain COVID prevention measures will apply, but one thing is sure – we will make your learning experience as enjoyable as possible!
EVENT. The annual ADB SAFEGATE UK & Ireland Aviation Summit took place virtually this year on June 9, 2021. Under the theme “Transformation: Let’s Make It Work”, the Summit looked at how the aviation industry can meet current and upcoming challenges with new solutions and innovative approaches. Here we share one of the video recorded presentations from the Summit that introduces the new concept of operational elasticity.
