Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) chose ADB SAFEGATE to upgrade the Tamale Airport with efficient CAT II LED airfield ground lighting (AGL). The airport was in dire need of an upgrade as the existing narrow runway did not support night operations. The upgrade will help accelerate growth and development of the region, setting it up as an economic hub.

Calgary International Airport (YYC), one of Canada’s busiest airports, opened a new state-of-the-art terminal on October 31, 2016. Passenger volumes have nearly doubled at YYC from 8 million in 2000 to over 15.4 million in 2015, and the new addition makes future growth possible. The new five-level facility which is primarily for U.S. and international-destined traffic, was the final phase of an over $2 billion expansion project that included a new runway which opened in 2014. It was an exciting week in Canberra at Australia’s biggest annual aviation conference and exhibition, the Australian Airports Association National Conference. Participating in the event, ADB SAFEGATE exhibited solutions to optimize airport performance and get the best result for maximum value when working in airfield projects. Birmingham Airport has chosen ADB SAFEGATE, to install its Integrated Tower Solution to enable A-CDM and improve real-time information shared between airport stakeholders ─ airlines, ground handlers and air traffic control. Greater predictability is only one of the expected outcomes.
Abu Dhabi International Airport is undertaking one of its most ambitious expansion projects, where ADB Group has been selected as the main contractor. This partnership will enable the airport to be innovative, dynamic and improve traveler experience while maintaining world-class standards of airside safety and compliance at its existing terminals to create additional capacity for traffic growth. Using ADB’s SmartExpansion Path* methodology, the airfield will be redesigned after a survey of the existing airside infrastructure. ADB will also optimize the airport’s AGL infrastructure including lighting, power, control, and surface guidance systems.
