NEW VIDEO. Inter airport Europe is one of the world’s leading exhibitions for the airport industry. This year we exhibit our Time to integrate concept and solutions to boost airport performance. At every stage of the aircraft´s process from approach to departure, integrated systems can achieve time savings to reduce the total amount of time aircraft spend on the ground, as well as improve the efficiency of airport resources to decrease costs. Watch our CEO Christian Onselaere present why ADB SAFEGATE exhibits at inter airport Europe and how we can help airports globally to operate more efficiently and safely.
ADB SAFEGATE is adding advanced new features to its Safedock visual docking guidance system. The enhanced system will help airports increase the number of aircraft their existing gates can process. Gate delays will be further reduced by enhanced monitoring and measuring of the turnaround process; keeping gates free of unauthorized vehicles; tracking and communicating the precise position of aircraft at the gate during arrival and on pushback; and through more powerful data logging of the docking and departure process. In an industry survey done to examine top priority needs of airports regarding lighting installations, airports said that energy efficiency and product size were most important. At inter airport Europe 2017, ADB SAFEGATE is showing its full range of an ultra-compact Power HF solution, which is 33% smaller and 30% more efficient than conventional power systems. The solution is suitable for existing lighting installations which can support an airport’s ambitions to upgrade to LED for even greater energy savings.
Integrated tower, airfield and gate systems support the highest operational efficiency to minimise aircraft time on the ground. This, in turn leads to increased airport capacity with existing airport infrastructure, while the highest safety is maintained at all times. To understand how this can all be achieved through integration, let’s follow an airliner from approach to departure.
BRUSSELS. Our vision is to enable airports to operate more efficiently, safely and sustainably. We help airports around the world to handle more air traffic and increase their profitability through greater efficiency – all while maintaining the highest levels of safety. This does not change with our new shareholder. Only now, we are also part of a global family of companies with an established, significant presence in the aviation & transportation sectors. Carlyle understands our business and will be contributing to our vision and strategy for the future.

ADB SAFEGATE has achieved a key milestone in airfield ground lighting (AGL) with the installation of the 1.2 millionth LED AGL fixture globally. The company began LED design, development and production more than 15 years ago, and today more than 750 airports use ADB SAFEGATE’s LED solutions. With 2 out of 3 LED airfield lights worldwide installed by ADB SAFEGATE, the company reinforces its leadership in LED airfield lighting industry.
ADB SAFEGATE is launching a Pushback Support Tool that simplifies air traffic control workloads and enhances airport safety and efficiency. Part of ADB SAFEGATE’s portfolio of systems for the tower, the tool automatically suggests the optimum aircraft pushback procedure, monitors its progress and warns ATC of potential conflicts with obstacles and other aircraft or vehicles in the apron area. Too many airports lack visibility of the bigger picture as a result of poor information exchange between the labyrinth of airport operators, air traffic controllers, airlines and ground handlers involved in daily operations. An integrated airport control center is the best option for airports who want to bring this complex network of stakeholders together, says Nick Gates, Portfolio Director, Air Travel Solutions, SITA.
