PRODUCT LAUNCH. ADB SAFEGATE is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned LED Runway End Identification Light (REIL) which is used to provide a visual indication to pilots of the runway threshold during an approach. The company has reduced the size of the flash head for styles A and E to a common PAR56 size flash head with only 12 LEDs, while maintaining industry-leading photometric quality.
PRESS RELEASE. Hamburg Airport is optimizing its apron infrastructure to improve operational efficiency. The airport, has once again, selected ADB SAFEGATE to supply and install its Safedock T1 Advanced Visual Docking Guidance Systems (A-VDGS) and extend the SafeControl Apron Management (SAM) system. This setup will help the airport to improve predictability, minimize turnaround time, and reduce delays.
In an industry survey done to examine top priority needs of airports regarding lighting installations, airports said that energy efficiency and product size were most important. At inter airport Europe 2017, ADB SAFEGATE is showing its full range of an ultra-compact Power HF solution, which is 33% smaller and 30% more efficient than conventional power systems. The solution is suitable for existing lighting installations which can support an airport’s ambitions to upgrade to LED for even greater energy savings.
Calgary International Airport (YYC), one of Canada’s busiest airports, opened a new state-of-the-art terminal on October 31, 2016. Passenger volumes have nearly doubled at YYC from 8 million in 2000 to over 15.4 million in 2015, and the new addition makes future growth possible. The new five-level facility which is primarily for U.S. and international-destined traffic, was the final phase of an over $2 billion expansion project that included a new runway which opened in 2014.
