No other aspect of an airline’s operations probably has such a big impact on the entire organization as the on-time Performance (OTP). Good OTP requires many people and functions to perform well together—consistently and over time and it´s key for passenger satisfaction. Recently OAG released the annual On-time Performance (OTP) Star Ratings report, which accredits the top airlines and airports around the world for superior punctuality performance.
More than 2,250 airport operators and industry representatives convened in Boston for the 91st Annual American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Conference & Exposition. ADB SAFEGATE was there to share new solutions that help airports substantially increase capacity and reduce costs by integrating and automating systems across airside and landside operations, including maintenance processes.
At the 29th ACI EUROPE Annual Congress & General Assembly in Cyprus, Airports Council International Europe unveiled a resolution formally committing the European airport industry to become net zero for carbon emissions under its control by 2050, at the latest. Jean Baptiste Pouzet, Tom Duffy and Adam Levy represented ADB SAFEGATE at the event in Limassol to discuss the industry challenges related to sustainability with airports and airlines.
Historically, optimizing operational efficiency at airports has been difficult. The variety of distinct operational sectors has meant that many ‘silo’ sectors have become established as the norm. With an ever increasing number of constraints on airport operators – financial, environmental, safety, security, accessibility, regulatory and of course space – the pressure on management has never been greater to scrutinize the effects of integrated operational efficiency.
As North American aviation industry leaders come together in Boston to gather valuable ideas to build on their successes, ADB SAFEGATE will be there to share exciting new solutions that help airports substantially increase capacity and reduce costs by integrating and automating systems across airside and landside operations, including maintenance processes.
ADB SAFEGATE has introduced its new digital Airside Location-based Inspection and Service solution (ALIS) for scheduling and tracking of airside maintenance actions. The cloud-based solution replaced manual, paper-based systems to enable a more reliable and fail-safe approach to collaboration between maintenance teams, managers and even airside operations, by eliminating inefficiencies caused by human error.
What makes the European airport market very special? To get a better understanding we asked ADB SAFEGATE´s Regional Sales Director Europe, Regardt Willer. In this interview Regardt explains about the biggest challenges and also about solutions to help mitigate the effects. Because of geographical constraints, European airports do not always have the freedom of expanding by means of geographical expansion. Instead airports often need to optimize operations. ADB SAFEGATE’s contribution is predominantly based around providing the airport with the tools to aid decision-making and other tools to speed up the processes at the airport.

This is what Alexander Herring, ADB SAFEGATE’s Regional Director of Africa recently stated at a key conference on Africa’s aviation industry. Continue reading
VIDEO. IATA predicts that the air transport market in Africa will grow by almost 5% through 2037. In order to cope with increasing demand the sector needs to invest. Hosted by award winning presenter Nadine Dereza, ADB SAFEGATE celebrated a successful 15th Summit with a special focus on the future of the airside and apron management edition. With a mix of airport industry speakers and through real case studies the ADB SAFEGATE Aviation Summit 2019 looked at how the airport industry can meet upcoming challenges with new solutions and innovative approaches. A BIG thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. See you next year! ✈️
