PRESS RELEASE. ADB SAFEGATE has been chosen to deploy its airfield and gate systems at the new Red Sea International Airport, including energy efficient airfield lights, its market-leading Individual Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ILCMS) and Safedock T1 Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System (A-VDGS). Equipment deployment and capability has been selected to easily integrate with future systems, to support the Red Sea International Airport’s future expansion plans from CAT II initial-operations towards CAT III. The project reflects the airport’s vision to use scalable technology to enable a seamless landing experience while aligning with sustainability goals.
GRAZ. Ever growing complexity is the new normal for Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs). Today’s controllers have to be aware of a magnitude of different flight procedures, and consider a steadily growing amount of data while operating multiple systems in the control rooms, all this while putting safety first, and respecting the growing demand for efficient and sustainable routing and guidance.
VIDEO. Air traffic is increasing rapidly around the world. What specific “airfield challenges” does the growth bring to the airports? Our Global Airfield Solutions Manager talks about two key areas: Asset Management and Operational Resilience, which is the time it takes to return to normal operations if something out of the ordinary occurs that impacts operations. Interesting? Watch the video where Andreas Wirandi presents on the subject “Safer and more intelligent airfield solutions”.

The Reliance Power HF is part of the ADB SAFEGATE intelligent AGL solution. It has been designed to meet the top priority needs of airports for their lighting installations. The flexible power module system brings multiple benefits for many of the real-life installations that we get involved with every day. Power HF is suitable for existing lighting installations and can support an airport’s ambitions to upgrade to LED for even greater energy savings.
Several years ago, LED technology transformed airfield ground lighting. Its adoption has since been rapid and unstoppable as airports reap the rewards of substantially lower energy costs, ultra-long lamp life, high-quality output and much faster response times compared to the conventional halogen lighting. Build a safer, lower cost airfield. Today, we stand on the threshold of a further transformation as advanced control systems build on the capabilities of LED lighting and other technologies to create the intelligent airfield.
Istanbul New Airport, expected to be the world’s largest airport, will serve as Turkey’s primary airport and a hub between Europe and Asia. ADB SAFEGATE will conduct an AGL design review and install its intelligent airfield solutions including intelligent LED ground lighting and visual aids. These will improve throughput and efficiency, and enable safer and more sustainable operations. Continue reading
Aviation is changing. Airports are enjoying unprecedented growth prospects as demand for air travel continues to climb. New business is everywhere and can be won by delivering the best, delay-free passenger experience. Upgrading existing airport infrastructure is a cost-effective way to help cope with constantly rising air traffic. Intelligent ground lighting systems are proven to increase operational efficiency and improve safety. Continue reading
VIDEO. Airfield lighting at an airport today is shifting towards more intelligence within the light fixtures themselves. Watch our global product managers Andreas Wirandi and Tom Werdefroy explain airfield intelligence in this video.
