ADB SAFEGATE and vertiport supplier and operator KOOKIEJAR forge partnership to build Middle East’s first vertiport

PRESS RELEASE. With the aim to develop the future of urban air mobility, ADB SAFEGATE and KOOKIEJAR have announced their partnership to co-develop the next generation of vertiports. The cooperation will enhance aviation safety, efficiency, and sustainability, building valid infrastructure for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

KOOKIEJAR, with its cost-efficient and modular vertiport design, signed a landmark agreement in 2022 with heliport and helicopter operator, Air Chateau, for the establishment of a vertiport in Dubai South. With a vision to create a network of vertiports to serve the rapidly evolving advanced air mobility ecosystem, KOOKIEJAR’s expertise was put to the test when they recently conducted a last-mile delivery to a superyacht in Monaco. This time the test brings them to Dubai, UAE, where the focus is enabling air taxi services.

ADB SAFEGATE, a leading global provider of comprehensive airport solutions, offers an extensive range of products and services designed to enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of airside operations. From state-of-the-art LED lights with advanced sensors to cutting-edge communication platforms and software systems managing flight turnaround processes, ADB SAFEGATE’s technology is trusted by airports worldwide.

This collaboration merges KOOKIEJAR’s innovative vertiport development vision with ADB SAFEGATE’s technological expertise in airport solutions. By connecting airside assets and delivering real-time insights for advanced decision-making, this partnership aims to usher in a new era of smart, interconnected vertiports. The first one of these will be built in Dubai South at Air Chateau heliport.

We are thrilled to be joining forces with ADB SAFEGATE to take our vertiports to the next level. Their world-class airfield solutions and global presence empower us to create vertiports that redefine safety and efficiency standards, addressing the complex demands of urban aviation.” says Kim Silander, Founder of KOOKIEJAR.

KOOKIEJAR’s innovative vertiport approach perfectly aligns with our mission to deliver best-in-class airport solutions. The Middle East, with its challenging environmental conditions, is a crucial market for us. We are proud to test our technology for the Middle East’s inaugural vertiport,” says Fredrik Johansson, Business Development & Strategic Projects at ADB SAFEGATE.

This partnership represents a significant step forward for Advanced Air Mobility infrastructure, setting the stage for the next generation of vertiports that will reshape how we move within urban landscapes. Infrastructure is key to enable VTOL manufacturers to scale up their business once they pass certification. During the Dubai Airshow in mid-November more announcements will be made by a consortium led by KOOKIEJAR and Air Chateau in which ADB SAFEGATE is a member that aims to elevate advanced air mobility.
