PRESS RELEASE. ADB SAFEGATE strengthens its collaboration with Lisbon-based air navigation services provider, NAV Portugal, with a new agreement that will support future growth at Portuguese airports and help ensure the safety of passengers and aircraft. The contract includes delivery of a state-of-the-art Multi-sensor Data Fusion System at Lisbon and Porto airports.
“We are very pleased to continue and develop our business partnership with ADB SAFEGATE in this new surveillance tracking contract,” said Gonçalo Vale, CFO & Board Member, NAV Portugal. “Through this undertaking, Lisbon and Porto airports will benefit from new safety enhancements while upgrading to the latest technology stack.”
In 2009, NAV Portugal became one of the first to deploy ADB SAFEGATE’s Multi-sensor Data Fusion System at Lisbon airport. A few years later, the system was also successfully deployed at Porto Airport. In 2017, NAV Portugal once again turned to ADB SAFEGATE to install its Electronic Flight Strip System at Lisbon tower.
Under the new contract, ADB SAFEGATE will replace the original Data Fusion System with a state-of-the-art Multi-sensor Data Fusion System that is fully compliant with the latest EUROCAE ED-87 standards and is core to ADB SAFEGATE’s OneControl Surveillance Service. The new system will provide high-precision output based on the different surveillance sensor technologies available at Lisbon and Porto airports. Additionally, its integration with the Airport Safety Support Service will provide controllers with safety net alerts tuned to the specific demands of NAV Portugal to bring the highest level of operational safety at the respective airports.
“Our industrial leadership on the Multi-sensor Data Fusion has shaped over years the excellent collaboration with NAV Portugal,” said Gonzalo Moreno-Muñoz, VP Tower, ADB SAFEGATE. “With this new project, we renew our commitment to deliver the best technology and surveillance expertise for safer airport operations.”
