VIDEO. Imagine one integrated operational process from approach to departure. To make this a reality, such a solution must integrate and intelligently support many different guidance and traffic control functions, including tower control systems, airfield lighting, docking control and gate management. Watch our colleagues talk about how ADB SAFEGATE’s integrated airport solutions for gate, airfield and the tower can improve airport performance.
Improved airfield safety; enhanced visibility & less glare; fewer complaints about light pollution from neighbors; 50% reduction in energy usage! These are some of the major benefits experienced at Henderson Executive Airport after LED Ramp Lighting project that was a “North American first”.
Climate change is a challenge the entire world must face with ambition and drive, and the aviation industry is no exception. At the 39th ICAO Assembly in Montreal, the world’s governments are meeting from September 27 to October 7 to discuss the agreement on the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation.
In an increasingly globalized world, international interconnectivity is key and a given for any thriving or expanding society. A well operating airport hub with supporting connecting commuter airports is essential to support the economy of a large metro or a large part of a country. With leisure and business air travel on the rise, airports are facing multiple congestion challenges that need to be managed both in the short and long term. In many cases, airport operators are running out of options resulting in overloaded infrastructure.
How do solutions for more efficient airports go hand in hand with sustainability? At the Swedish Pavilion at inter airport China, ADB Safegate’s Guan Peng recently presented the company’s perspective on sustainable airports, taking the audience through some of the key aspects of our solutions across the tower, gate and airfield that reduce carbon footprint.
On the occasion of the 2016 ACI-NA/World Annual Conference/World Annual General Assembly in Montreal and the organization’s 25th anniversary, Martin Lamprecht, Publisher & Managing Editor and also our guest blogger from Momberger Airport Information interviews Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World about Customer Service, Sustainability, Safety, Regulation and Cooperation.
Inter Airport China, the premier airport exhibition in the market, will be held in Beijing from September 12-14. ADB Safegate will be there to exhibit our integrated solutions, spanning airside-wide over gate, airfield and the tower to power airport performance. On the 13th we’ll speak at the Swedish Pavilion about how ADB Safegate work together with airports and airlines for a greener future. We hope too see you there! Continue reading
Experts predict that air travel will double by the mid-2030s. It’s boosting our economies, creating access to opportunities in local, national and international markets, and fueling adventure like never before. But it’s also impacting our planet. How can airports balance the growing global demand for air travel with the impact our operations have on climate, the health and well-being of our eco-systems, and all aspects of sustainability?
Anticipating an increase in air traffic, Singapore’s Changi Airport, which currently operates with two runways, plans to add a third runway as part of the Changi East Development Project. The airport will install new airfield specialized systems including airfield lighting, surveillance and detection equipment for the third runway and ADB Safegate has been chosen to supply Changi Airport with the latest LED airfield lighting equipment for this purpose.
Carbon neutrality, 40% energy savings versus international standards, 100% clean energy operations – the expectations in terms of environmental sustainability for the new international airport in Mexico City are very high. The challenge now is how to reach these targets while accommodating 50 million passengers per year and ever growing traffic – 125 million planned in the project’s second stage.
