Today the 21st United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP21) began in Paris, aiming to unite around 150 nations for a single agreement on tackling climate change. LAHORE, PAKISTAN. Just in time for the upcoming foggy winter season when normally around 1000 flights are affected by diversions and delay, Lahore Allama Iqbal International Airport is being weather proofed in a project that will increase capacity by five times during low visibility. The project will be done in only 12 months’ time, and key to the fast execution is a holistic view on the airport’s expansion, and an airport knowledgeable enough to think outside the box.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) recently completed two massive projects to relight and remark its airfield. Almost all of the work occurred simultaneously, from March 2014 to July 2015. Together, the improvements cost the airport about $34 million – with no outside funding.

Nearly a decade in the making, Vertiport Chicago is said to be the largest vertical aircraft takeoff and landing facility of its kind in North America. The private facility offers a landing area for corporate helicopters, executive charters, sightseeing, emergency medical response traffic and police and fire department aircraft.
