Our customers have played a vital role in the development of the successful implementation of LED technology in our industry. With this video, first shown at inter airport Europe 2023, we commemorate milestones from the latest 20 years of development that have led us to the latest airfield LED innovation – the AXON EQ elevated light. PRODUCT LAUNCH. Our AXON EQ LED elevated light utilizes the latest sensing technologies to capture data critical to making airport operations more streamlined and predictive, and reducing time and costs associated with installation, commissioning and maintenance.
ESR. Sustainability is a buzzword when it comes to airport operations around the world. Many airports have made sustainability a key part of their business model, proactively measuring and managing their daily environmental impact. And they are being encouraged to do so by government support and industry incentives such as the ACI Carbon Accreditation Programme. There are many amazing projects underway at airports around the world, from solar panels to biofuels and electric vehicles. Some airports are even experimenting with direct carbon capture and storage. Every little bit helps!
Earlier this year, San Francisco International Airport (SFO) revealed plans to repave its shortest runway, 1L-19R, with new asphalt. That’s not unusual, because the airport regularly performs minor routine maintenance on its four runways combined with a full repaving every 10 to 12 years based on usage. It was simply 1L-19R’s turn in the rotation. The unusual part is that this time, the airport was planning to complete the work in eight short weeks. Continue reading
SAVE THE DATE. One of the most important events on the airport industry’s calendar will soon be with us again– inter airport Europe 2023. We will be in Munich on October 10-13 to introduce ADB SAFEGATE Airside 4.0 and show how we can help empowering the airside evolution. We´re looking forward to meeting you in person at Booth 1320, Hall B5 to discuss how we can be working together with the beginning of a new era in aviation.
DESIGN. Its been a year since ADB SAFEGATE embraced Building Information Modeling (BIM)! Our BIM library is now complete, including BIM objects of our airfield ground lighting, docking products, power equipment, signage and more. You can find out more about these BIM objects by accessing our BIM library.
ISTANBUL. As the sun rises over the captivating city of Istanbul, we’re thrilled to launch our 3-day Project Manager conference. This event brings together our incredible Project Managers from across the globe – the driving force behind our successful projects. From Americas, Middle East to the Asia, and throughout Europe, our international team is dedicated to advancing project management excellence. Continue reading
The future of the aviation industry is data-driven and technology-enabled, and Airside 4.0 is at the forefront of this evolution. It is empowering airports to move towards a smarter, more sustainable future, paving the way for efficient and safer airports. With Intelligent AiPRON, the Airside 4.0 strategy extends to apron management as well
Traditionally, airfield lighting fixtures served only basic functional purposes, enabling airports to switch lights on and off to guide aircraft during landing and taxiing manoeuvres. However, with the addition of integrated sensors into AGL IoT devices, it is possible to collect a tremendous amount of data, not only regarding the operation of the light but also about the airside ecosystem in which it operates. Digital twins are modeled to replicate the behavior and performance of the physical objects in real-time, using data gathered from the sensors or other sources of information.
The aviation industry is evolving rapidly and airports must adapt to meet the new challenges and demands of the industry. Hubs are under more pressure than ever to reduce costs, increase safety and improve efficiency. The Airside 4.0 concept by ADB SAFEGATE empowers them to achieve these goals by leveraging new and emerging technologies to revolutionise airside operations.
