With the Sustainable Innovation Forum COP21, hosted in Paris, just around the corner, Safegate Group is focusing on leaders in green business practices in the airport industry. Just like any other business, airports have to do their part to decrease their environmental impact. Aviation produces 2% of global CO2 emissions and airports are central actors in balancing the growing demand for air transportation and concerns of local communities on this issue. Aéroports de Paris (ADP) qualifies in more ways than one as a model airport for its commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious business practices. Safegate Group’s Alexander Herring sat down with Didier Hamon, the General Secretary of ADP, to get insight into ADP’s success and future plans in environmental and sustainable development.
The aviation industry is changing, and ADB SAFEGATE is changing with it. For the airport industry to take advantage of the opportunities arising, they need access to the latest information about solutions, aviation trends, new technology and more. ADB SAFEGATE recognises this need.
Making airports operate in a greener way has been the leitmotif for airport operators for many years. On one hand, the community demands airports decrease their environmental impact on surrounding neighbourhoods, and on the other hand, communities need well-greased transportation systems to survive and prosper in a globalized world.

With the rapidly growing global middle class, and expansion in emerging markets such as Latin America and the Middle East, airports are faced with the challenge to meet rising air traffic demands. How can your airport benefit without deteriorating safety and profitability? How can you increase your throughput without compromising passenger experience?
